
Kelis, Who?
A Born Actor
Raised by her grandparents in the historic city of Georgetown, SC, Kelis Nicole Herriott is the oldest of three. At the age of five she underwent open-heart surgery. Before she started acting, Kelis engaged in many activities including: competition cheerleading, Multicultural Club, chorus, Service Over Self and more. In 2014 she attended the South Carolina Governor's School for Arts and Humanities summer Discovery program. She later went on to attend the Governor's School's Residential Drama program where she graduated in 2018. Kelis continued her education at Coastal Carolina University where she is scheduled to graduate May 2022.Â
In April of 2019, Kelis competed in the South Carolina Miss Plus America Pageant where she was crowned the title of Miss South Carolina Plus America. The Miss Plus America Pageant system is designed for women ages 18, and size 14 and up as the equivalent to Miss America. The MPA Pageant system is built on service and Christian values. Her platform is Be Scene: an initiative to bring theatre to schools in the Georgetown County School District. She went on win the Elite National title— the highest score amongst all delicates, being crowned Miss Plus America Elite 2019.Â
Aside from theatre and pageantry, Kelis has many passions. She loves true crime, strength training, pole dancing, and of course, her puppy— Bijoux.
